J.D. University of Tennessee, 1963
Nicknamed “Snake” as a teenager, Francis Cain has practiced law with Frantz, McConnell and Seymour, LLP since 1985, using his expertise and persistence in pursing the absolute best outcome for each of his clients.
Having grown up in Knoxville, where he attended Knox County public schools, “Snake” has never wanted to work anywhere but in East Tennessee. His love for the area obvious is; he stayed close to home when he chose to attend the University of Tennessee. He graduated in 1960 from UT and from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1963.
Focusing on the areas of general civil litigation, workers' compensation, personal injury and product liability, “Snake” has tried cases in state and federal courts throughout East Tennessee and Middle Tennessee and has appeared before the Tennessee Court of Appeals and the Tennessee Supreme Court.
Extremely active in the legal community, “Snake” has served as a Rule 31 listed general civil mediator by the Tennessee Commission on Alternative Dispute Resolution and on the Federal Court Mediation Panel for the Eastern District of Tennessee. He is also a member of the Tennessee Defense Lawyers Association, Tennessee Bar Association, and the Knoxville Bar Association, where he served on the Board of Governors from 1984 to 1986.
“Snake,” who has visited every county seat in Tennessee, proudly never traveling on the interstate or eating at a single franchise restaurant, is also a grandfather, who relishes time with the young folks in his family, and is also an avid trout fisherman and golfer.
