Kevin A. Dean

East Tennessee is the ideal place for Kevin, a transplanted North Carolinian, because he enjoys a variety of outdoor activities and is an avid tennis player who has been part of Frantz, McConnell and Seymour, LLP since 2007.

Kevin specializes in estate planning, probate, tax, real estate litigation and business litigation. As part of his business/civil litigation practice, Kevin has represented clients, both large and small, in federal and state courts across East Tennessee, from General Sessions to Chancery and Probate, as well as the U.S. District Court.

Before deciding to practice law, Kevin was a licensed CPA from 2002 to 2004 performing accounting in his hometown of Cherryville, N.C. His extensive background in accounting and the practice of law provides him with a unique set of skills to provide specialized solutions for his clients.

Kevin has appeared in a number of levels of state court and he is licensed to practice in the U.S. Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee and the U.S. Tax Court. He also is a member of the Knoxville and Tennessee Bar Associations and the Knoxville Estate Planning Council.

Offering his clients a highly beneficial skill set, Kevin’s combined accounting and legal credentials present them with a unique perspective as he has effectively merged the two, successfully helping businesses and individuals analyze their situations.

While Kevin, who graduated from North Carolina State University with a B.S. in 2001 and a master’s degree in accounting in 2002, enjoys spending time with his wife and sons (he is a self-proclaimed “soccer dad”), hiking and mountain biking, he also is quite an accomplished tennis player. He was a member of the 2007 and 2008 U.S.T.A. 8.0 Mixed Doubles National Championship teams from Knoxville. He also serves on the board of directors for the Children’s Center of Knoxville.
